Julie Skotte is a Danish nature photographer living in the norther part of Zealand. She has a background in biology, but spends the non-photography hours with her family and working as a software product manager.
Julie is an avid outdoor enthusiast, spending as much time as possible outside with her camera.
She draws inspiration from the natural surroundings sometimes photographing the intricate details found whenever looking around and other times the grand landscapes mostly around the coastal areas. Julie loves getting up early the morning and arriving at a location and being the only one to explore it. She says “Time stands still when I’m out exploring and observing nature. One of the most fascinating things to me is the coastal landscape that is always changing. Two days are never the same, and compositions found one day are completely gone or changed the next.
Julie is also a scuba diver and underwater photographer who loves to explore the natural world below the surface. She has a special interest and passion for jellyfish and several of her photographs feature these mesmerizing creatures. In addition she often uses the splitshot technique, capturing both the world above and below water in the same photo.
